Stop Buying Toys and Instead Take Your Family on Holiday

4. Travelling during the holidays can promote brain development in children

Certain studies that have been done have shown that traveling can improve and help develop brain and cognitive functioning in children. The nature of the holiday is irrelevant. The point is that a child’s ‘’play and seek” system is activated while on holiday. This is not the case when a child is at home.

Activating this system in your child’s mind will lead to the development of the frontal lobe. It is here where social intelligence, goal orientation, cognitive functioning and a focus originates.

Maturing this lobe will produce these behaviors which could remain for the rest of your child’s life. You could take your child on holiday in nature or to a new and cultural village. It just needs to be a new and exciting experience.
