France is one of the most visited countries in Europe, and its cities have a special charm and treasure special feelings. In France there are several dozen beautiful destinations, and each of them is special in its own way. Culture, history and fashion are perhaps the most famous landmark of France, and anyone who wants to visit this beautiful country will have filled every moment, and still will want to re-visit this country. This article presents some destinations in France.

1. Marseille

Marseille is the largest port in the Mediterranean region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and one of the oldest cities in Europe. Marseille is the second city in France considering the population, and since it is multinational and multicultural city, here you can meet with different people and cultures. Marseille is the right place for those who want to see something new. In Marseilles even markets are offering various attractions. In addition to architecture and landscape, one must visit Notre Dame de la Garde that offers the best view of the city. Fans of the novel or the film The Comte de Monte-Cristo can travel to the island the Château d’If, where movie was filmed.

Paris is the capital of France and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is situated on the river Seine, in northern France, is also known as City of Light, which is why it is often said that Paris is the most romantic city in the world. Paris is the city of fashion, food and art, but is also full of historical and cultural sites that mark the history and spirit of both the city and the whole country. Here is the home of the world’s most luxurious and best fashion designers and cosmetics, such as Dior, Chanel, L’Oréal and many others. Attractions in Paris you must visit are certainly Eiffel Tower, 324m high tower and symbol of France, Louvre Museum, which preserves most expensive and the most valuable works of art of all time, the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral. Paris in all its glory and beauty is definitely an excellent holiday destination.

3. Loire Valley

Loire Valley is definitely a place from a fairy tale where you can go and feel like you are not in this world. Fascinating villages with forests and rivers, castles enclosed with towers… That’s why it is not surprising that even the area around the Loire is called the “Garden of France” and is under the protection of UNESCO. Some of the castles from this valley are medieval and were built on top of the valley. The most famous are the Loire châteaux are sumptuous Renaissance castles that were built for fun and enjoyment, or for those who want to know how it used to look court life.

4. Strasbourg

Strasbourg is the capital of the Alsace region, and is located on the border of France and Germany. In Strasbourg are the seats of many European institutions, among others, the European Parliament, the European Court of Human Rights and the Council of Europe. Strasbourg is a young and dynamic city, but nonetheless its architecture is the result of various blends of French and German influences. Many museums, galleries, and a well known historic center, the Grande Île, make this city one of the best places to visit. Amazing Gothic cathedrals and 300 years old astrological clock that still works, are just some of the attractions you must see. Best of all is that you can see everything just by walking around or you can rent a bike and went to the Maison Kammerzell, Ponts Couverts and Petite France.

5. Lyon

Lyon is located in the Rhone-Alpes region, in east-central France, and is the third largest city in France. The city has a long history and is known for its architecture, a dynamic cultural scene and gastronomy. Since the Lyon consists of several regions, each is special and has hidden treasures just waiting to be discovered.  If you want to relax in a good restaurant, Presqu’île is the place to go. For adventurers, it is best to go to Croix-Rousse, which has a multitude of hidden passages, or visit the Roman ruins and Gothic churches.
